Lumenier QAV-ULX Ultra Light Racing Frame

The QAV Ultra Light X (ULX) Frame is Lumenier’s first frame in the sub 50g category. The carbon fibre frame of the QAV-ULX is designed to be able to be built in many different configurations and in its lightest the QAV-ULX weighs in at a mere 45g. All of the parts of the frame have been designed to be as light as possible whilst not compromising on rigidity and strength. Lumenier includes what they are calling “saddle bags” which enable you to attach components such as the video transmitter and radio receiver to the sides when building the QAV-ULX in FPV configuration.

The Lumenier QAV-ULX has been designed to have a motor to motor distance of just 185mm which provides optimal manoeuvrability whilst still accommodating the very popular 5″ propeller. For Those who wish to use 4″ propellers 4″ arms are also available which further reduce the wheelbase. As well as this each kit includes spare arms and frame plates in order to allow for replacement of those parts after a heavy impact or crash.

Keeping to the idea of making this frame as light as possible the Lumenier QAV-ULX comes with high quality aluminium and titanium hardware. All of the screws are titanium which provides the high strength of steel whilst providing the light weight of aluminium. The Aluminium Spacers have a textured surface to make gripping them easier during building and repairs.

The QAV-UXL uses a refined version of the aluminium elbows first found on the Lumenier QAV-R Frame to allow you to remove an entire arm by simply removing 2 bolts. No locknuts or spanners are needed just 1 tool and a couple of minutes to remove and replace an arm, making field repairs a breeze.

Included with the Lumenier QAV-ULX is the popular Lumenier 4Power Power Distribution board, which can fitted with an optional 5V Pololu Circuit Or 12V Pololu Circuit to provide lower voltage power for your flight controller or FPV system, also included is an XT60 Pigtail which can be directly soldered onto this board. 

Like the Lumenier QAV-X the QAV-ULX is designed to allow the mounting of small form factor FPV cameras such as the Lumenier CM-650 or Runcam Swift in a fully encased enclosure to protect them during a crash and to also allow a large variety of camera angle options.
