DJI RODE VideoMicro On Camera Hypercardioid Microphone

The DJI Osmo RODE VideoMicro on camera hypercardioid microphone is a compact external microphone designed to improve the audio quality on your videos. The RODE microphone incorporates a high-quality cardioid condenser microphone capsule, this delivers a high quality audio recording when used with the DJI Osmo and a wide range of other video cameras.

The RODE VideoMicro is a directional microphone, the VideoMicro reduces the distracting peripheral sounds and focusses on the audio in front of the camera, this microphone pickup is more forgiving than RODE’s other on camera microphones. The sound recording from this microphone provides a more natural sound when recording indoors, this is the perfect microphone for capturing incredible audio to accompany your video.

The microphone body is made from aluminum, this allows for a high level of RF rejection, and is finished in RODE’s high-grade ceramic anti-glare black coating. Included with the VideoMicro is a camera shoe mount featuring a Rycote Lyre shock mount. The RODE VideoMicro on camera hypercardioid microphone features a suspension structure composed of a hard-wearing thermoplastic, this system is more effective at minimising unwanted vibrations, handling and cable-borne noise than a traditional elastic suspensions systems. RODE micorphones are known world wide and are a trusted brand, this microphone is virtually indestructible, the Rycote Lyre will never sag, snap, wear out or require rethreading to maintain its effectiveness.

When shooting video in windy conditions, the included WS9 synthetic furry wind shield with foam inner cell has been designed to reduce the effects on the audio being recorded, when using the microphone outside in windy scenarios the wind and other environmental noise will be reduced greatly, indoor use of the wind shield will also add to the audio quality. Optionally available is the RØDE SC7, a TRS to TRRS cable that allows the VideoMicro to be used with smartphones, to capture crystal clear, directional sound for video and video applications such as Periscope.
